Rush Copley Medical Center, Aurora, Illinois

Rush Copley Medical Center experienced a tremendous increase in services needed by the rapidly growing community. This 14-bed addition to the existing hospital consists of a first-floor addition, as well as a new basement addition that include a new mechanical room, data room, and space for future hospital-related build-out. The structure is designed to accommodate the future expansion of two additional floors. This addition has a total of 20 intensive care beds, including two isolation ICU beds.

Location Comment: The recent choice to manage diagnostic mammograms and screening mammograms in separate areas was brilliant and makes all the difference in specialized care. This was the first time I didn’t have to wait hours for a diagnostic while surrounded by women who were in and out after their screenings and I was able to remain calm and feel truly cared about for the first time in decades.
